Close to the important east-west artery between the Central Business District and Beijing Capital Airport, a multi-functional building complex with offices, serviced apartments, and retail and services facilities has been created. Four high-rise buildings mark the corners of a square site, in the center of which a shared plinth building accommodates a range of commercial functions. Its core consists of a central multi-purpose hall, which is surrounded by exclusive shops, restaurants, business clubs, wellness facilities and exhibition areas. The plinth building has been arranged such that its recessed position provides attractive access areas to all the towers and the central building itself.
The symmetric arrangement of the high-rises, with their distinctive two-story plinth at ground level and continuous edges, ensure their easy recognizability and makes orientation on the inside straightforward.
These features of the Da Mei Central Plaza–the clear structure and easy “readability”–mark the starting point of new urban life in this district.
