Approaching from the forecourt, the training halls are separately accessible via a large entrance hall as well as the institute building. A staircase leads to the lower level, accommodating the changing and training rooms. During public events the athletes use the side entrances, whilst the spectators remain on the upper level, which terminates as stands in all halls. The training halls are divided into dry sports halls for various disciplines and the indoor swimming pools with the respective assigned changing, tool and secondary rooms. The dense plan arrangement ensures short distances between the training halls and the institute building. The main focus of the design was placed on the achievement of a complex that equally reflects the playful as well as educational character of the procedures, whilst simultaneously generating a close link between interior and exterior spaces.
