Housing development at Saarlandstrasse / Alte Wöhr
Gallery
The government-subsidized energy conservation building with 24 apartments is located on the site of the former Barmbek freight railway terminal in the direct proximity of the Stadtpark. The development takes the form of a block with brick facades and projecting balconies, which add a lively touch to the facade. The four and five-story blocks make full use of the maximum permitted development density on the site. A generous roof terrace is used by the occupants as a communal area. The building is accessed via the footpath from the courtyard side so that, towards the west, the apartments benefit from unbroken views across the landscaping.
