The contrast between open and closed façade elements, and the access stairway, which forms a diagonal in front of the main façade, avoids the monotony of repetitive structuring while not denying the use of the structure as a carpark. The exterior walls consist of three types of bricks. For the large sections, two monochrome bricks were mixed haphazardly. As the colours differ only slightly, these façade surfaces appear vibrant, but not "spotty". Lintels, corbels and base course are of dark clinker bricks. The masonry walls have open sections, which provide natural ventilation, but do not allow passers-by to look inside. The façade to Hillmannplatz includes recessed masonry cassettes of approx. 3.6 m² with square openings which let in fresh air.
