The Greenland Exhibition & Convention Center (GECC) is part of a new development area in the Nankang District of the city of Ganzhou. The main axis of the new quarter runs directly from the west railway station to the GECC on the banks of the Shangyou River. The complex comprises five two-story halls arranged in a semicircle around a forecourt. The center exhibition hall is slightly smaller, making room for a large, two-story entrance lobby. A foyer area with a horizontally constructed glass facade is situated on the south side in front of the halls and serves as the main access route, connecting the central entrance lobby to all the exhibition halls as well as to the ancillary functions, such as conference rooms and restaurants. Roofs bowed to resemble waves cover the halls and provide large canopies along the entrance court on the south side and along a truck loading zone on the north side. The roofs are supported by slanted V columns. Boxes cladded with horizontal metal slats flank the exhibition halls on both ends and follow the slope of the V columns at the exterior facades.
