Hubert Nienhoff


Nienhoff studied architecture at Aachen Technical University (RWTH) and was Assistant Professor at the Chair of Urban Design and Material Studies from 1988 to 1991. His first professional appointment was with the architects and town planning practice Christoph Mäckler. Following a one-year stay in the United States, he joined gmp · von Gerkan, Marg and Partners Architects, where he has been a partner since 1993. Nienhoff has completed numerous projects, including the Leipzig New Trade Fair, the Berlin Olympic Stadium, and the World Cup stadiums in South Africa and Brazil. As one of the initiators of the aac (Academy for Architectural Culture), Nienhoff is committed to advancing gifted young architects. He is a member of the Foreign Trade Council of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology.
