Robert Friedrichs studied in Venice, Zurich, and Braunschweig. He then joined the scientific team researching urban design at Hamburg’s HafenCity University. He joined gmp ∙ von Gerkan, Marg and Partners Architects in 2001 and took part in numerous successful international competitions and studies; he also completed a variety of construction projects of different typologies, amongst them hospitals, trade exhibition centers, stadiums, railway stations, schools and offices, as well as refurbishments of listed buildings.
