The architectural tradition of the former Hamburg Kontorhaus is continued in terms of zoning and materials: stress on the vertical structure by strong pillars, horizontal division using the base, middle structure and roof level, brickwork and steel. Introverted light wells are avoided, all offices have a view of the city.
Glazed and planted winter gardens with glass elevators, open stair-cases and gallery corridors form the formal entrance foyer. At first they serve as noise barriers protecting the naturally ventilated offices from the street noise. They also serve as excellent areas for parties, concerts and large meetings.
In planning terms the staircase towers form a pendant to the tower of the Meßberghof and signalize the important junction Ost-West and Domstraße.
